1. The short version

AI Calculator is a free engineering calculator. We do not require accounts, we do not store the numbers you type into our calculators, and we do not sell data. We collect only standard anonymized analytics (page visits, country, device type) to understand which calculators are useful, plus advertising-related data via Google AdSense to keep the site free.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Calculator inputs — NOT collected

All calculations run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter into BMI, voltage drop, beam deflection, percentage, or any other calculator on this site are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored anywhere outside your local browser session. You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (Network tab) while using a calculator — no calculation request is sent.

2.2 Standard server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard request logs containing: IP address (truncated for privacy), timestamp, requested URL, referring URL, browser user-agent. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then automatically deleted.

2.3 Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled to understand aggregate site usage (which calculators are popular, how users navigate between pages, broad geographic distribution). Analytics data is aggregated and contains no personally identifying information. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or any standard ad/tracker blocker.

2.4 Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements via Google AdSense to support the free operation of this site. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

2.5 Cookies

We set the following cookies:

• Functional (set by us): Stores your preferences such as theme (dark/light) and most-recently-used calculator. No personal data.
• Analytics (set by Google Analytics): Anonymized session and visitor IDs.
• Advertising (set by Google AdSense): Used by Google to serve ads. Subject to your AdChoices preferences.

You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings without affecting calculator functionality.

3. How we use information

We use collected information solely to: (a) operate and improve the website, (b) understand which calculators are most useful so we can prioritize improvements, (c) prevent abuse and ensure security, and (d) display advertising via Google AdSense to fund free operation. We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Your rights

4.1 GDPR (EU/EEA users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we collect minimal data and do not link analytics to identities, most of these rights are satisfied by clearing your cookies and not returning to the site.

4.2 CCPA (California users)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete personal information, to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Email us at the address below with the subject line "Privacy Request" and a description of your request. We will respond within 30 days.

5. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

6. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS exclusively. We use industry-standard hosting infrastructure with automatic security patching. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure; we make no warranty of absolute security but commit to promptly disclosing any incident affecting user data.

7. Third-party links

Our calculator pages link out to authoritative sources (IEC, ASME, ACI, NEC standards bodies, Wikipedia, peer-reviewed research). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites; please review their policies separately.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we change this policy. Material changes will be highlighted via a banner on the homepage for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
